Trade-by-trade breakdown of state licensing requirements. This config drives the installer apply flow to show or hide the license verification step. If you change a trade's requirement status, the next install session will pick it up.

These trades are exempt from state licensing requirements. Examples: cleaning, landscaping, basic handyman work under exemption thresholds.

Landscaping

Basic landscaping (mowing, mulching, plant installation) is generally unlicensed. Pesticide application is separate.

Lawn Care

Mowing and routine maintenance — no license required.

Window Cleaning

Exterior/interior window cleaning — no state license required.

Carpet Cleaning

No state contractor license required for carpet cleaning.

Junk Removal

Hauling and removal — no trade license required (may need local business license).

Snow Removal

Plowing and shoveling — no state contractor license required.

Pressure Washing

Gutter Services

Gutter cleaning and basic guard installation typically don't require a license.

Handyman

Minor repairs below the state's handyman exemption threshold (typically $500–$1,000 per job) are unlicensed in most states. Larger projects need a GC license.
